Port Blair, July 27: Indian Coast Guard (ICG) carried out mid sea medical emergency evacuation from Singapore registered LNG Carrier“Prachi” at 1200 hrs on 26 Jul 20. The vessel whilst on planned passage from Kochi to Singapore reported 01 crew namely Mr.YashasviKamboj, Age-21 Yrs, nationality-Indian, complaining of burning sensation in stomach, vomited blood and heavy retching. The ill crew is a Trainee Navigating Officer Cadet (TNOC) onboard who embarked the merchant vessel on 23 Jul 20 at Kochi. The patient was tested for COVID-19 on 21 Jul 20, prior embarking vessel, and his reports were negative.

Port Blair, July 27: Two more cases have been detected from the Directorate of Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, A&N Administration. The two have been employed in the department and have been tested positive today.

Port Blair, July 27: The District Magistrate South Andaman has ordered closure of all liquor vending outlets in the South Andaman District. In an order dated 27th July 2020, the District Magistrate mentioned that the Liquor Vending Shops will remain closed with effect from the midnight of 27th July 2020 till further orders.

Port Blair, July 27: The Member of Parliament, Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested Chief Secretary, A&N Administration to re-engage 72 Short Term Contract teachers for the academic session 2020-2021. Their engagement has concluded on 30.04.2020. The Contract Teachers have been working since academic session 2018-2019, teaching various subjects in the distantly and remotely located Inter Island schools of the Administration.
