Port Blair, Mar. 29: The vaccination drive is continuing smoothly in A&N Islands. As per data available, a total of 6,10,000 beneficiaries in the age group of 18 and above have been vaccinated so far in A&N Islands. Similarly, 23,329 beneficiaries have been vaccinated in the age group of 15 to 18yrs and 8680 beneficiaries have been vaccinated in the age group of 12 to 14 yrs. The number of beneficiaries administered precautionary dose of vaccine so far stood at 10142.

Port Blair, March 29: During the RT-PCR test conducted on 250 passengers who arrived here yesterday, no positive case has been detected. Today, 5 flights with 565 passengers arrived, out of which, 509 passengers were vaccinated with both doses while RT-PCR test was conducted on 43 passengers and the reports are awaited. 

Port Blair, March 28: The Member of Parliament, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Chief Secretary of Andaman & Nicobar Administration to direct ANIIDCO to provide 24-hour service in the ANIIDCO petrol pump of Goal Ghar.

In a letter addressed to the Chief Secretary, the Member of Parliament mentioned that since 12.11.2013 following the direction of the Administration, the ANIIDCO petrol pump was kept open for the public for 24-hours with the approval of the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC).

Brings New Ray of Hope to the Fishing Community

Diglipur, March 28: The first ever Fish Festival - the first of its kind in the Islands got underway at Subhas Gram Mela Ground, Diglipur. The three-day long festival is being organized under the ‘National Rural livelihood Mission’, launched by the Govt. under ‘Pandit Deendayal Upaadhyaay Antyoday Scheme.

Inaugurating the festival, the Chief Guest on the occasion, Assistant Commissioner, Shri Ankit Yadav said that in order to provide better self-employment  opportunities and facilities to the rural people, the Govt. has launched this ‘National Aajivika Mission’, and the people should avail the opportunities under the scheme. He congratulated NABARD and the Fisheries Federation for coming up with the idea of conducting such festival, which is first of its kind in the Islands.
