Sri Vijaya Puram, March 18: As part of the month long celebration of World Homoeopathy Day- 2025 to commemorate the 270th Birth Anniversary of Dr. Christian Friedrich Samuel Hahnemann, a German physician who discovered the Principles of Homoeopathy and developed it as ‘Science of gentle healing’, the Directorate of Health Services and A&N State AYUSH Society will be conducting Homoeopathy Health Camps for general public on March 19, 2025. All villagers have been requested to avail the opportunity.

Sri Vijaya Puram, March 18: IGNOU has extended date for fresh admission in Diploma, UG and PG programs (except for semester based and Certificate Programmes) for January 2025 till 31st March 2025 (without late fee). IGNOU also extended last date for re-registration for the next year of a programme of Second and third year UG degree learner and second year PG learners (except semester based programmes) of IGNOU till 31st March 2025 (with a late fee of Rs.200/-).

Sri Vijaya Puram, March 17: In a significant move towards modernizing the power distribution network in A&N Islands, two agreements and one MoU costing more than Rs. 500 Crores have been signed today at Sri Vijaya Puram under the project of Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS) in the august presence of the Chief Secretary, A&N Administration, Dr. Chandra Bhushan Kumar, IAS. The MoU for Smart Metering project costing Rs. 53.26 Crores, the agreement for Loss Reduction costing Rs.247.12 Crores and agreement for Interconnection of Islands costing Rs.208.04 Crores was signed by the Secretary (Power) on behalf of A & N Administration and senior officials of Power Grid. The Power Grid was nominated by Ministry of Power as Project Implementing Agency (PIA) for execution of these components under RDSS.

Wimberlygunj, March 17: The Primary Chess Utsav (PCU), a Zonal Level Chess Tournament organized by the Sports Section, Directorate of Education, in collaboration with DEO Wimberlygunj, successfully concluded today at the auditorium of GSSS Wimberlygunj. Selected students from 26 Govt. Primary schools under the Wimberlygunj educational zone participated with great enthusiasm, making it a memorable event.
