Port Blair, Aug 19: Eight fishermen were arrested in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands for fishing in the Jarawa Tribal Reserve. Acting on a tip-off, a team of the Kadamtala Police Station that was patrolling near Strait Island rushed to Middle Andaman and made the arrests on Tuesday.

Port Blair, Aug 19: The Tribal Development Council, A&N Islands has demanded for extending the cut-off date for admission in colleges of A&N Islands. The cut-off date has been kept at 24th Aug 2020, which is a grave concern for the students, especially the tribal students in the remote areas.

The number of cases has also been witnessing a steep rise. While the corona scare seems to be never ending in the A&N Islands, which has limitations of facilities like infrastructure, medicines and most importantly staffs to manage the pandemic, the only solution for the A&N Administration to please the Centre seems to be manipulation of COVID-19 data.
