Port Blair, April 4: The Member of Parliament, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested immediate intervention of Minister of Road Transport and Highways, GoI in the matter of delay in construction work of Middle Strait Bridge.
In a letter addressed to the Minister of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH), the Member of Parliament mentioned that the National Highways & Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd (NHIDCL) undertook the construction of a 1.9 km bridge at Middle Strait Creek nearly three years ago, with a completion target of September 2022. However, as of now, the construction work remains incomplete, with about 30% of the work finished.

Port Blair, April 4: Very often various agencies constructing infrastructure projects require digging/cutting of roads and excavating at public places. Such digging/ cutting and excavating at public places often damage the existing under-ground infra like Optical Fiber Cables, Water pipelines, Electric Cables, sewerage pipelines, etc. of other utilities asset owners causing them huge economic losses, inconvenience to citizen and associated business losses to other stakeholders.

Mayabunder, April 4: The long awaited repair of Neemtala Road from Medical junction Pokadera connecting to Danapur main road commenced today. Since last many years, people of Mayabunder have been running from pillar to post to get this stretch of road repaired.
In this regard, the Ex-Pramukh, Shri Siddique had personally knocked the door of the concerned authorities several times for taking up the said road. But all the efforts were in vain. Few weeks ago Siddique had taken up the issue with Shri Ankit Yadav, IAS, the new Deputy Commissioner of N&M Andaman. It was his initiative that the Neemtala road of Pokadera got started today at the right time before arrival of monsoon.
