Port Blair, June 16: The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has announced admission/re-registration to its academic programmes offered through open and Distance learning (ODL) online mode for the academic session commencing in July 2024. The university offers intensive Masters degree programmes, Bachelors degree programme, PG diploma, Diploma and certificate programmes in various subjects. Port Blair, June 16: The CRC-A&N Islands under the administrative control of National Institute of Empowerment of Persons with Multiple Disabilities (Divyangjan), Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment (Divyangjan), Govt. of India has initiated Free Coaching Scheme for PwMDs at CRC, Brookshabad.
The objective of the scheme is to provide coaching to economically disadvantaged students with disabilities, having minimum 40% or more disability and having a total family income from all sources of Rs.8 lakhs or less per annum will be eligible to apply under this scheme and also to enable them to appear in competitive examinations conducted by Staff Selection Commission (SSC), various Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs),Banking/Insurance/PSU/CLAT to succeed in obtaining an appropriate job in Government/Public/Private sector.

Port Blair, June 13: The National Action Plan for Drug Demand Reduction (NAPDDR), by Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan under Directorate of Social Welfare, organized a successful drug abuse and alcoholism awareness cum cultural program at Dr. B R Ambedkar Auditorium on June 12, 2024. The event was made possible through collaboration with NGOs (Ration Rasheed, Hope Foundation, Maa Foundation, and Pankh Andaman), and centered around the empowering theme of 'women empowerment'.
