Port Blair, Jan. 10: The vaccination drive is continuing smoothly in A&N Islands. As per data available, a total of 5,98,587 beneficiaries in the age group of 18 and above have been vaccinated so far in A&N Islands. Similarly, 15,362 beneficiaries have been vaccinated in the age group of 15 to 18 years against the target beneficiaries of 23,000. A total of 2639 people were vaccinated today.

Port Blair, Jan 9: The Member of Parliament, A&N Islands, Shri Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharman has requested the Hon’ble Lt. Governor of Andaman & Nicobar Islands to take up the project of constructing a Bridge –cum- Dam between Minnie Bay and Mithakhadi areas on top priority and complete this project from UT Fund. This is to ensure that this project is completed as soon as possible in the best interest of people of Andaman & Nicobar Islands.

Port Blair, Jan 9: The Andaman & Nicobar Territorial Congress Committee President, Mr. Rangalal Halder on Saturday wrote a letter to the Hon'ble Lt. Governor, A&N Islands, requesting him to arrange transportation services for inter-island peoples prior to lockdown.

In the letter Mr. Halder stated that the recent curbs initiated by A&N Administration for combatting Corona virus is indicating towards a complete or partial lockdown in near future as happened during 1st wave and 2nd wave.

Port Blair, Jan. 9: Administration of COVID precautionary vaccine dose for Healthcare and Frontline Workers and those over 60 years of age with co-morbidities will begin from tomorrow (Jan.10). The Centre has issued guidelines stating that no new registration is required to get a COVID precautionary vaccine dose. The Centre has already said that the precautionary vaccine dose will be the same vaccine as administered previously in the first two doses.
