Port Blair, Sept. 13: It is a moment of pride for the A&N Administration, as Miss Techa hailing from the Andamanese tribal community became the first from her tribe to have successfully cleared the National Eligibility cum Entrance Examination (NEET) (UG)-2022. To encourage and congratulate Ms Techa for her outstanding achievement, the Chief Secretary, A&N Administration, Shri Keshav Chandra, IAS today felicitated her for the glorious success. Port Blair, Sept. 13: The South Andaman District Committee President and its Office bearers today assumed the charge at Gandhi Bhavan in the presence of Hon'ble Member of Parliament, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma. On the occasion hundreds of party cadres, senior leaders, Congress ward Councilors, Pradhans, PRI's, members of Youth Congress, Mahila Congress, INTUC, NSUI, Seva Dal and various Block Committee members were present to greet the new committee of the District Congress.

Port Blair, Sept. 13: The CPI (M) has threatened for an agitation if the ongoing crisis of LPG Cylinders in Port Blair is not resolved at the earliest.

In a letter to the Secretary, Civil Supplies, the Secretary CPI(M), Shri D Ayyappan wrote, “We are constrained to bring to your notice that there is no respite from the LPG shortage experienced at Port Blair and other areas for the last few weeks. People are found standing in long queues wherever the LPG cylinder vehicles are supplying the cylinders. At some places, hundreds of people are found lined up near the LPG vehicles”.
