Port Blair, Aug 18: Government of India has taken an initiative to mass mobilise a campaign during August 2022 to September 2022 to coincide with the International Coastal Clean-up Day (September 17, 2022). Various activities under this campaign are coordinated by the Hon’ble Minister, Ministry of Earth Sciences, Government of India.  As a part of the celebration of International Coastal Cleanup Day, the Vigyan Prasar (VP), Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India is proposes organising a one-day event to highlight the idea of a ‘Clean coast, Safe sea’ in Zoological Survey of India, Port Blair.

Port Blair, Aug 18: In order to strengthen the fight against COVID-19 and to achieve 100% target to administer the booster/ precautionary dose of COVID vaccination, special camps are being organized.  A meeting in this regard was conducted under the Chairmanship of Shri Suneel Anchipaka, IAS, Deputy Commissioner (SA) with all stakeholders including government departments, NGOs, various associations including AATO, Contractors, Hotels etc.

Port Blair, Aug 18: A delegation of Bharatiya Janata Party Under the leadership of Shri.Ajoy Bairagi State President along with Shri M. Shanna Rao, State Vice President, Shri Jyotirmoy Bavaly State General Secretary and Dr. R. Dev Das, State Secretary visited Billyground and attended a workers meeting on 17th August 2022 and discussed various organisational issues concerning the party at Billyground.

Port Blair, Aug 18: The Department of Food Safety, A&N Administration conducted Food Licensing & Registration drives at Nine (9) places in South Andaman District at Neil Kendra & Bharatpur Beach in Shaheed Dweep, Ferrargunj, Govind Nagar, Elephanta Beach & Radha Nagar in Swaraj Dweep, Shoal Bay No. 14, Junglighat & Buniyadabad. Similarly Five (5) Food Licensing & Registration drives were conducted at Bakutala, Nimbutala,  Nimbudera, Mayabunder & Kalighat in N&M Andaman District.

Port Blair, Aug. 18: ‘District as an Export Hub’ initiative of Govt. of India envisages to convert each District of the country into an export hub by identifying products with export potential in the District. The Andaman and Nicobar Administration has identified Marine Products, Coconut Products and Tourism as the products/services with potential of export from A & N Islands.
