Port Blair, July 24: PAHAL Plus (Plan for Attaining Holistic Learning & Achieving Learning Outcomes), an initiative for improvement of learning outcomes was launched in A&N Islands today. Admiral DK Joshi, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, NM, VSM (Retd), Hon'ble Lt. Governor, A&N Islands and Vice Chairman, Islands Development Agency inaugurated the PAHAL Plus in Isles, an initiative of the Education Department, at a function held in the DBRAIT auditorium here today. The Chief Secretary, A&N Administration, Shri Keshav Chandra, IAS, DGP, Shri Devesh Chandra Srivastva, IPS Commissioner-cum-Secretary, Shri Nikhil Kumar,IAS, PCCF, Dr. T.S. Ashok Kumar,IFS Adhyaksh, ZPSA, Shri Sanjay Kumar Singh, Chairperson, PBMC, Smti S. Selvi, senior officers of the Administration and school students were present on the occasion.

Port Blair, July 24: The Member of Parliament, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the provision of issuance of Passports under Tatkal Seva facility for people of Andaman & Nicobar Islands.

The Tatkal Seva facility offered by the Government of India plays a crucial role in expediting the processing of passport applications. However, currently this service is reportedly unavailable in Andaman & Nicobar Islands, leaving residents at a disadvantage when they require urgent passport services.

Car Nicobar, July 24: For the first time in the history of Car Nicobar Island, the District Administration, Car Nicobar organized an event with the theme "Zilla Prashasan Aapke Dwar" at Big Lapathy Community Hall on 24th July, 2023. The Deputy Commissioner, Nicobar District, Shri Hari Kallikat, IAS chaired the event along with Shri Singh Piyush Vijaykaran, Assistant Commissioner (HQ) and Chairman Tribal Council, Shri Lionald Nicomede.

Port Blair, July 24: CPI (M) has demanded a CBI investigation into the construction work of the new Terminal building of Port Blair International Airport and to book the officials and contractor firm involved in the corruption and poor quality of work directly or indirectly.  In a letter sent to Shri Jyotiraditya M. Scindia, Minister of Civil Aviation, Government of India, New Delhi, Secretary, CPI (M) A & N State Organising Committee D. Ayyappan said that the new terminal building of the Port Blair International Airport was inaugurated online by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India at a function physically attended by the Minister of Civil Aviation himself and other dignitaries on 18th July, 2023.
