Port Blair, Jan. 17: The Transport Department will be organizing a Motor Cycle & Car Rally from 11 am onwards from Netaji Stadium to Dollygunj Junction tomorrow (Jan.18) and a Road Safety Awareness Program in the evening from 5.30 pm onwards in the Auditorium of TGCE as part of Road Safety Week being observed throughout the country as per the guidance received from the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways.

Shri R.K. Raj, OBC Chairman, Andaman Nicobar Territorial Congress Committee has deeply mourned the untimely demise of Vijay Rai Sharma Son of Late Bahadur Rai Sharma, age 68 years R/o Junglighat who died on 16.01.2023 at GB Pant Hospital, Port Blair. 

The ANTCC President Shri. Rangalal Halder along with the Chairman- Campaign Committee Shri. G. Bhasker and the entire Congress Family deeply mourn the sudden demise of Shri. Vijay Rai Sharma, S/o Bahadur Rai Sharma R/o Junglighat.

They felt and conveyed his heartiest condolences and prayers to give strengthen to the bereaved family members and also prayed for giving eternal peace to the departed soul. The last rites will be taken over from his residence on 18th January 2023.

The scientific fervor once instilled in the minds of children becomes a real harbinger of the progress of the Nation and the Society”, said the Chief Secretary, A&N Islands, Shri Keshav Chandra, IAS, addressing the gathering as the chief guest of the inaugural ceremony of the  State Level Science & Mathematics exhibition ‘Gyanodaya-2022-23’ organized by the Education Department, A&N Administration in collaboration with Samagra Shiksha, UT Mission Authority, A&N Islands and Department of Education in Science & Mathematics, New Delhi in the auditorium of Govt. Girls Sr. Sec. School here this morning. The inaugural session was attended among others by the Commissioner-cum-Secretary (Education/Sports), A&N Administration, Shri Nikhil Kumar, IAS, Secretary (Education), Ms Veditha Reddy, IAS, Director (Education), Shri Aditya Kumar Jha, officials from Education Department, students, teachers and parents.
