Port Blair, Sept. 30: The Member of Parliament, A&N Islands, Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Chief General Manager, A&N Telecom Circle, BSNL, Port Blair to restore the networking of BSNL at Hut Bay, Little Andaman. Due to networking problems in some area of Hut Bay, the digital services like online Tele-education classes for the students and other e-services are badly been affected. 

Port Blair, Sept. 30: Central Crime Station in its continuous efforts and crackdown against illegal Narcotics in A&N Islands, has arrested 02 drug peddlers. On 25/09/2020 a credible information was received by SHO, PS CCS that one person namely P. Mohammed Puhari R/o Bimblitan will be striking a deal of ganja at Bimblitan Main Road. The information was immediately conveyed to Dy. SP (CID) and accordingly a raiding team comprising Inspr. Mahesh Kr. Yadav, SHO, PS CCS, Inspr. Mohd Elias, SI T. Dilla Rao, ASI Vijay Shankar, Head Constable Sanjay Kujur, Constable P. K Mondal, K. Rajendran, Hari Krishna Yadav of PS CCS rushed to the spot and later intercepted one person who was coming from Bimblitan side carrying one carry bag. On asking, he disclosed his name as P. Mohammed Puhari S/o Late Peer Sultan (45) yrs R/o Bimblitan. During frisking & search the raiding team recovered 1.220 Kg illicit ganja from his possession. The recovered ganja was seized on the spot. The accused was arrested under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act-1985 and a case was registered at PS CCS. The raid was conducted under the supervision of Sh. Ajay Rai, DANIPS, Dy.SP (CID) and overall command and supervision of Shri Ravi Kumar Singh, IPS, SP(CID).

Port Blair, Sept. 30: The State President, Bharatiya Janata Party, Shri. Ajoy Bairagi has written a letter to the Lt. Governor, Andaman & Nicobar Islands with copies to the Secretary, Shipping, Director, Shipping Services and to the Deputy Commissioner of all the three Districts requesting them to make arrangements for the stranded people from Inter-Islands at Port Blair or to make necessary arrangements for them to travel to their respective places of residence.

Bimal Chhajer, Director, SAAOL Heart Centre, New Delhi

Port Blair, Sept. 30: Continuing on the zero tolerance policy on the organized crime, district police of North & Middle Andaman carried out a crackdown on the manufacturing and sale of illicit liquor. Based on information that due to the fear of action by the police, some people are making 'jungli' liquor in the nearby forest, search teams were deputed. Thousands of litres of the concoction stored for fermentation was destroyed in these search operations. PS Kalighat and PS Rangat have done particularly well in this.
