Port Blair, July 31: ANCOFED is starting the procurement of Copra under the Price Support Scheme of Govt. of India @Rs.108.60 per kg from the farmers of these Islands from Aug. 2 at Campbell Bay, Hut Bay and South Andaman for which the following staffs have already been deputed in the respective places for the purpose.

Port Blair, July 31: CPI (M) Andaman & Nicobar State Organising Committee deeply condole the passing away of Shri Vakkom Purushothaman, former Lt Governor of Andaman & Nicobar Islands at a private hospital at Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala today afternoon. He was 96 years.

Port Blair, July 31: As part of Monsoon Tourism Festival, held on July 15 & 16 at Corbyn’s Cove Beach, the Tourism Department had invited open entries for Rain Dance Competition and Rain Photography Competition. The winners of Rain Dance competitions were awarded with the cash prize on July 16, however, the entries to the Rain Photography competition was kept open for all till July 23.

Port Blair, July 31: The ANTCC President, Shri. Rangalal Halder and the entire Congress Party have deeply mourned the sad demise of Shri. Vakkom Purushothaman at the age of 95. He was a senior leader of Congress Party and Former Lt. Governor of Andaman & Nicobar Islands who passed away on 31st July,2023 at his residence in Kumarapuram, Kerala.
