Port Blair, Feb. 4: The South Zone Cultural Centre, Thanjavur, Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India seeks nomination of one eminent personality in the field of Folk / Tribal Art Culture from Andaman Nicobar Islands for its Board of Governors. As per clause 4 (vi) of new revised uniform Memoranda of Association, one eminent expert in the Field of Folk / Tribal Art Culture from each Member State is to be nominated by the Hon’ble Minister of Culture, Govt. of India.   

Port Blair, Feb. 4: As part the record of Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, A&N Administration, about 18,946 persons under APL Category of ration card have not yet seeded Aadhaar number in their respective family ration card in spite of several reminder and request through Fair Price Shop dealers, electronic and print media. All such persons have been requested once again to approach the respective Civil Supplies Offices within 30 days in person and get their Aadhaar seeded in their family Ration Card, failing which, the ration card to which these unseeded members are attached shall be de-activated/members deleted considering to be a bogus member/ration card.

Port Blair, Feb. 4: Climbing coconut palm is a risky affair and the climber is always susceptible to unforeseen/unexpected accidents during their job. To mitigate such issues, the Agriculture Department put their efforts to convince the coconut climbers to insure themselves. The Officers and field staff of South Andaman Zone contacted individual professional climbers and motivated them to take the privilege the Coconut Development Board’s scheme called ‘Kera Suraksha Insurance Scheme’ which is a comprehensive group personal accident insurance Schemes.

Mr. Vishal Jolly, National Executive Member BJP & Former State President BJP-ANI has condoled the sad demise of Smt. Arati Das, R/o Prem Nagar, Aged 93 Yrs, who expired today at 11:45 AM at G.B. Pant Hospital Port Blair. Shri Jolly prayed to the Almighty to give peace to her eternal soul departed for heavenly abode and give strength to her bereaved family member to bear this irreparable loss.
