Member of Parliament Apprises CS of the Need for Immediate Repair Eye Surgery Equipment

Port Blair, Nov. 8: The Member of Parliament, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma today informed the Chief Secretary, Andaman & Nicobar Administration that he has been receiving complaints that specialized eye surgery for Intraocular Lens (IOL) Implants is not being performed in G B Pant Hospital since last several months.

Port Blair, Nov. 8: A team of Journalists from the Indian Journalists’ Union (IJU), New Delhi on a tour of the islands today interacted with the Islands based Journalists at Andaman Teal House. During the interaction, the local mediapersons apprised the visiting Journalists about issues and challenges the Island Journalists had to face in the post Covid-19 situation.  

Port Blair, Nov. 8: The National Students' Union of India (NSUI) has launched the Save Education, Save Nation campaign in Andaman & Nicobar Islands today.

According to NSUI, the new education policy promotes the centralization and privatization of education. Also, this anti-education policy was brought when there was a period of Covid havoc in the nation. The objective is clear that the Modi government wants to make education like a facility only for the rich. This is a direct play with the future of poor children.

Port Blair, Nov. 8: Former State President, BJP, Shri. Vishal Jolly has once again requested to increase the convoy operating between Jirkatang to Middle Strait and from Middle Strait to Jirkatang which has been curtailed and restricted to a limited movement due to the COVID pandemic since March 2020. Jolly has repeated his request through in his letter addressed to Chief Secretary, Andaman & Nicobar Administration.
