Port Blair, Feb 9: A delegation of Andaman & Nicobar Rajya Karmachari Mahasangh (ANRKM) of Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh met Dr. Jitendra Singh, Hon’ble Minister of State (DoPT) to appraise the issues of working classes of A&N Islands. The matter of regularisation of DRMs was on top and explained in detail about the services they rendered for the development of A & N Islands in far flung areas without any basic amenities during that period. Today the serving personnels were attained the age of above 45 years and without any security they are working continuously.

Port Blair, Feb 9: The Chief Electoral Officer, A&N Islands, Shri B S Jaglan, IAS, today visited EVM Demonstration Centre situated at Headquarter, District Administration, South Andaman. During the visit, he reviewed the demonstration and awareness program imparted by the officials as per the SoP of Election Commission of India.

Diglipur, Feb 9: A strategy of jungle search has been adopted in N&MA District as a part of zero-tolerance against bootlegging. In the recent past, several jungle search operations were carried out; the operation has yielded excellent results in recovering Illicit Liquor/Lehan and apprehending the offenders.

Port Blair, Feb 9: The National De-worming Day is being observed in all the Schools and Anganwadi Centres across the Union Territory. To mark the event, a State level programme was organized by the Directorate of Health Services in association with UT Health Mission in the Auditorium of Govt. Girls Sr. Secondary School today with the aim to cover children between the age of 01 year -19 years through Schools and Anganwadi Centres.
