Port Blair, Feb 9: The Hon’ble Minister of State for Commerce and Industry, GoI, Shri Som Prakash, IAS (Retd.) will be arriving on a three-day visit to A&N Islands on Feb. 11, 2024. Soon after arrival, the Minister will visit National Memorial Cellular Jail.

On Feb.12, the Minister will attend the ‘Rozgar Mela’ at Netaji Stadium. Thereafter, the Minister will hold a review meeting of Logistic Policy of Andaman & Nicobar Islands in the Conference Hall of Secretariat.

Port Blair, Feb 9: TRAI Regional Office Kolkata today conducted a Consumer Outreach Programme (CoP) for the telecom and broadcasting service consumers of the Ferrargunj and adjoining area in South Andaman district of A&N Islands at Ferrargunj Panchayat Community Hall. Shri Utpal Sharma Special Secretary (IT), A&N Administration, graced the occasion as Chief Guest., Mr. D. Bhaskar Rao, Dy Director General (DDG) of DoT Port Blair graced the program as Guest of Honour, and distinguished dignitaries of different fields were present in the event.

Port Blair, Feb 9: A delegation of Andaman & Nicobar Rajya Karmachari Mahasangh (ANRKM) of Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh met Dr. Jitendra Singh, Hon’ble Minister of State (DoPT) to appraise the issues of working classes of A&N Islands. The matter of regularisation of DRMs was on top and explained in detail about the services they rendered for the development of A & N Islands in far flung areas without any basic amenities during that period. Today the serving personnels were attained the age of above 45 years and without any security they are working continuously.
