Port Blair, May 16: Due to delay in the onset of monsoon, the water level at Dhanikari Dam and other water sources situated at the South Andaman District has gone down considerably and is severely affecting the water supply in the area. Many complaints are being received from general public and public representatives regarding irregular and non-supply of water in residential areas leading to a threatening disaster situation. It is perceived that an emerging distressful situation will arise, if immediate response and action is not taken in view of the prevailing emergent water crisis.

Port Blair, May 16: A delegation of Tourist Cab Drivers, who were operating their vehicles as Prepaid Taxis from Veer Savarkar International Airport today called on the Member of Parliament of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma with their grievances.

They said that a few weeks back the operation of Prepaid Taxis from Veer Savarkar International Airport was stopped, which is not only causing loss to nearly 450 odd Tourist vehicle operators but also causing inconvenience to Tourists. Prepaid Taxis operated from Port Blair airport were considered as affordable and reliable by tourists.
