Port Blair, Oct. 9: Due to insufficient booking of passenger tickets, the vessel MV Swaraj Dweep which was scheduled to sail for Chennai on Oct.11, 2022 and her return voyage from Chennai to Port Blair on Oct.18, 2022 has been cancelled. Passengers those who have purchased their tickets for the above sailings are hereby informed to cancel their tickets and get full refund from STARS Ticketing Counters.

Port Blair, Oct. 7: The General Body meeting of the Marine Works Employees 'Union (MWEU) of Government Dockyard affiliated to Indian National Trade Union Congress (INTUC) was held at 9 AM on 07.10.2022 in the Labour Welfare Centre of Directorate of Shipping Services under the Chairmanship of Member of Parliament Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma, President INTUC (A&N Islands) and MWEU.

Port Blair, Oct. 7: In fight against bootlegging, illicit liquor and drug abuse, Andaman and Nicobar Police has adopted multi-pronged strategy coupled with zero tolerance against this menace. On supply front, Police is cracking the whips against bootleggers and drug peddlers. On demand side, mass public awareness campaign has been launched to spread awareness about ill-effects of alcohol/drug abuse.

Port Blair, Oct. 7: As a part of the ongoing 68th Wildlife Week Celebration to enhance the coral growth in degraded patches of Phongibalu area and to facilitate eco-tourism activities therein, an artificial reef module was installed by the Department of Environment & Forests. Shri Keshav Chandra, IAS, Chief Secretary, A&N Administration installed the reef module as the chief guest of the function by tying fragmented corals. Ms Nandini Paliwal, IAS, Commissioner-cum-Secretary (Environment & Forests), the guest of honour also tied coral fragments and the structure was installed in the designated place by the Scuba Diving Unit of the Forest Department.

Today, on this special occasion of the 22nd Raising Day of the only Operational Quad-Services Command of the Nation, it is my proud privilege & a matter of great honour that my thoughts in the form of this message are reaching out to each & every valiant soldier, sailor, airman and navik serving under the proud flag of ANC.
