Port Blair, Sept. 19: Nakshatra Garden is based on the theme of astrology which includes a variety of plants and tress linked to the zodiac signs and stars. To promote the concept of the agro-eco-tourism and conservation of the environment, ICAR-CIARI has established a Nakshatra Garden at its Garacharma Research Farm today.

Port Blair, Sept. 19: The ICAR-Krishi Vigyan Kendra, South Andaman, organized a National campaign on Poshan Abhiyan and Tree Plantation with great zeal & enthusiasm by inviting farmers, farmwomen and public representatives. The objective of the programme was to raise awareness about healthy eating habits especially among women and children.

Port Blair, Sept. 19: The CRC- A&N Islands organised ADIP materials distribution camp for Divyangjans/PwDs in convergence with the Social Welfare Department at the Seminar Hall of CRC- A&N Islands on 17th September 2022 to mark AZADI KA AMRIT MAHOTSAV. ADIP materials such as – Teaching learning Materials (TLMs Kits), Hearing Aids, Wheel Chair, Axillary Crutches, Elbow Crutches, Smart Cane has been distributed during the camp. A special team from NIEPMD, Department with Person with Disabilities, Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment has been deputed for smoothly conducting the camp.

Port Blair, Sept. 19: As a part of the celebration of International Coastal Clean-up Day, the Zoological Survey of India, Port Blair organized coastal clean-up on 5th & 17th September 2022 and one-day workshop on 6th September 2022 in collaboration with the Vigyan Prasar (VP), Department of Science & Technology, Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India. The aim was to highlight the idea of ‘Clean coast, Safe sea’ for the benefit of the Teachers, Researchers and Students of these Islands.
