Port Blair, Feb. 25: In view of the upcoming General Election to Lok Sabha 2024, a meeting has been convened on 26.02.2024 at 03.30 pm under the Chairmanship of Chief Electoral Officer, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Shri B. S. Jaglan, IAS in the Mini Conference Hall of Secretariat to discuss the issues of IT Applications, Training Session for Andaman & Nicobar Islands and PPT Presentation of Election Seizure Management System (ESMS), cVigil App and Application & Enabling Communication in Realtime Environment (ENCORE).

Port Blair, Feb 25: PRAYAS JAC, in collaboration with Dento Facial & Cosmetic Care organized a Free oral and dental camp at Abbhudaya Complex, Ferrargunj. A total of 60 residents were beneficiaries, encompassing elders at the Old Age Home, boys at the Children's Home, and children at the Divyang Children's Home.

Dr. Pratiksha Malhotra, an Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon and Dr. Binita Mandal, a Dental Surgeon provided their services free of charge.

Port Blair, Feb 25: In view of the upcoming General Election to Lok Sabha 2024, various meetings were held under the Chairmanship of Returning Officer, ANIPC Ms. Veditha Reddy, IAS in the conference hall of the Office of Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman with various Departments like Excise, Income Tax, Police, Bank, Postal Service yesterday. The meeting was also attended by Nodal Officers of EVMs, IT, Expenditure Monitoring Management teams.

Port Blair, Feb 25: The Andaman & Nicobar Islands Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board, Port Blair will be organizing an ‘Awareness & Interaction Session’ on Feb.27, 2024 at 11 am followed by ‘Spot Registration Camp’ for the benefit of Building and Other Construction Workers of N&M Andaman District for two consecutive days i.e. Feb.27 & 28, 2024 at Atal Bihari Vajpayee Auditorium, Middle Andaman, Rangat.

Port Blair, Feb 25: Taking serious note of the cases wherein officers are being transferred/posted in the adjacent districts within the same Parliamentary Constituency by the State Governments, the Commission has strengthened its existing transfer policy to ensure that officials are not able to disturb the level playing field in the elections.

Plugging the loopholes in the existing instructions, the Commission has directed that, except for the States/UTs that comprise up to two Parliamentary Constituencies, all States shall ensure that officers who are transferred out of the district are not posted within the same Parliamentary Constituency.
