Port Blair, March 10: CPI (M) has demanded to reconsider the decision to convert the Community Hall, New Pahargaon into UHC/Wellness Centre and allow the residents of the area to continue to utilize the Community Hall for community purpose.  In a letter sent to the Commissioner-cum-Secretary (Health), A & N Administration, D. Ayyappan, Secretary, CPI (M) A & N State Organising Committee said that on the request of residents of New Pahargaon area (Ward No. 20), he visited the said area on 9th March, 2023. He informed the Commissioner (Health) that residents of New Pahargaon (Ward No. 20) area are very much furious over the decision of the Administration to convert the Community Hall at New Pahargaon into Urban Health Centre/Wellness Centre.

Kadamtala, March 10: The Member of Parliament, Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma participated in the International Women’s Day programme at Kadamtala on March 9, 2023. The event saw the participation of women from two Panchayats of the area, namely Uttara and Kadamtala Panchayats, in large numbers.

The event started with a warm welcome extended to the Member of Parliament by the women participants. The women expressed their appreciation for the MP's participation in the event and his support for women's rights and empowerment.

Port Blair, March 10: The Annual General Body Meeting of the South Andaman Teachers’ Branch of the Non-Gazetted Govt. Officers’ Association will be held at 10.00 a.m. on 11th March, 2023 at the Auditorium of Tagore Government College of Education, Port Blair.  Shri Ashok Kumat Tiwari, Vice Principal, Govt. Model Sr. Sec. School, Port Blair will be the Chief Guest at the Inaugural Session.

Port Blair, March 10: In observance of International Women’s Day, on 09-03-2023 at 1030 hrs, a road rally with the caption of “WALK FOR A CAUSE” was organized by Crime against Women Cell, CID Unit in presence of Superintendent of Police (CID) and Dy. Superintendent of Police (CID). Around 50 staff including female and male staff of CID unit along with NGOs participated in the rally.

It is brought to the notice of the electricity consumer and general public that power supply will remain suspended at the following area on 11.03.2023 (Saturday) from 0800 hrs. to 1400 hrs. in connection with cutting of 02 Nos. Siris tree standing adjacemt to house of Shri. Kuldip Singh, S/o. Shaitan Singh at Bird Line / Calicut, as per the order of SDM.
