Sri Vijaya Puram, Jan. 17: In the spirit of civic engagement and creating mass awareness among Islanders about the importance of wetland conservation and management, Andaman Law College, under the guidance of Dr. S. Jayakumar, Principal (i/c), collaborated with the Department of Environment & Forests, Sri Vijaya Puram in organizing ‘Save Wetlands Campaign-2025’. This event was held as part of World Wetland Day which is celebrated globally on February 2nd every year.

Sri Vijaya Puram, Jan. 17: In the early hours of 16th January, 2025, acting on a tip-off, the Forest officials of the Tushnabad Range conducted a successful night patrolling operation. The operation resulted in the detection and seizure of illegal timber from Caddlegunj Forest area, located within the Brindaban-Port Mout Reserved Forest Block-I.

Sri Vijaya Puram, Jan. 17: The Andaman & Nicobar AIDS Control Society (ANACS) along with Blood Centre, G B Pant Hospital, Directorate of Health Services has extended support to the Andaman & Nicobar Fire & Emergency Services, Sri Vijaya Puram, in organizing a Blood Donation Camp at Fire Service Head Quarter today. A total of 33 units of blood were donated by the voluntary donors.

Sri Vijaya Puram, Jan 17: The Hindu Rashtra Shakti has requested the Chief Secretary, A&N Administration in a letter to convene meeting to review the Member of Parliament’s important letters.
In a letter to the Chief Secretary, the HRS State President, Shri Rakeshwar Lall informed that such review meetings were convened by former Chief Secretary Shri Anindo Majumdar, IAS (AGMUT 1985) during the year 2016.
