Menon, retired Office Superintendent, A & N Administration at her residence at Garacharma today (29.08.2024) morning. She was 84 years. Her funeral procession will begin from her residence at 3.30 p.m. today. CPI (M) conveys its heartfelt condolence to her family members.

Port Blair, Aug. 29: National Sports Day was celebrated with great vigour and enthusiasm. Series of events were organized by Sports Authority of India in association with Police Entertainment Team (PET), Andaman & Nicobar Police. At Marina Park, floral tribute was paid to Major Dhyan Chand followed by a Nukkad Natak performed by A&N Police Team and sports quiz was conducted by SAI for general public present at Marina Park.

The objective of this initiative is to gather public perception on the best tourist attractions across various categories (Spiritual, Cultural & Heritage, Nature & Wildlife, Adventure Activities, and Others) to develop them into world-class destinations.

Port Blair, Aug. 28: A Table Top Exercise (TTEx) was conducted today under the Chairmanship of Shri A.S.P.S. Raviprakash, IAS, Secretary (Disaster Management), A&N Administration in coordination with the National Disaster Management Authority, Ministry of Home Affairs, GoI, New Delhi with all line Departments of A&N Administration, District Administrations (South Andaman, N&M Andaman and Nicobar), Armed Forces, NDRF, Police and other stakeholders of A&N Islands in the Conference Hall of Aapda Prabandhan Bhawan, Port Blair to finalize scenario and other activities for State Level Mock Exercise (SLME)–2024 to be conducted in A&N Islands on 30.08.2024.
