Port Blair, Oct. 27: A meeting was held under the chairmanship of Chief Electoral Officer, A&N Islands, Shri B S Jaglan, IAS, in the Mini Conference Hall of Secretariat today with all the recognized Political Parties and media persons in connection with the publication of Draft Electoral Rolls-2024. The District Election Officer, Ms Veditha Reddy, IAS, the Electoral Registration Officer/Joint CEO, Shri Dilkhush Meena, IAS, Dy. CEO, Shri Azharuddin Zahiruddin Quazi, IAS and Electoral related Officers were also present during the meeting.

Port Blair, Oct. 27: All Ration Card holders of the UT have been informed that the Department of Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs has initiated the e-KYC of every member present in the respective Ration Card as per the mandate and directions of the Govt of India. Hence, all Ration Card holders (APL/PHH & AAY) have been requested to contact any of their nearest Fair Price Shop along with Aadhaar numbers and Ration Card to get e-KYC done for all the members listed in the Ration Card latest by 30th November, 2023.

Port Blair, Oct. 27: The vessel MV Swaraj Dweep will sail from Port Blair to Vizag on Oct.30, 2023 at 1000 hrs. Excess baggage will be loaded from 1400 hrs to 1600 hrs on Oct.29. Embarkation of passengers will commence from 0800 hrs on Oct.30. The embarkation of passengers will be closed one hour before the schedule time. Passengers reporting late will not be allowed to board the vessel.

Port Blair, Oct. 27: A demonstration programme was conducted in Shyamkund village, Rangat Tehsil under the Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana by ATMA, focusing on the construction of an affordable pig shed utilizing locally available materials. Additionally, a livestock management training program was also held in the village and poultry and deworming medicines were also distributed.

Shri Bhagat Singh, Chairman A&N State Cooperative Bank Ltd., Retd. Superintending Engineer, Electricity Department, A&N Administration, Father of Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Member of Parliament breathed his last today at 10.30 am at Hyderabad. He was 82.

Shri Bhagat Singh apart from his highly decorated positions in the society had always been an active social worker throughout his lifetime. His noble gestures have touched many lives in the A&N Islands. The void created by his demise can never by filled.
