Postal Department Directed to Speed Up Delivery of New EPIC Cards
Port Blair, Jan. 17: To prevent impersonation/electoral fraud, Elector’s Photo Identity Card (EPIC) was introduced by the Election Commission of India in the year 1993 and with passage of time and in view of major advances of technology; the Commission has decided that the quality of cards, security features and other specifications should be further improved.

Port Blair, Jan. 17: In a bid to empower the unemployed youth of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, the Directorate of RD, PRIs & ULBs, A&N Administration in collaboration with Block Development Officers and various Line Departments will be organizing Job Camps from tomorrow (Jan. 18).
With a commitment to fostering economic growth and addressing unemployment challenges, these Job Camps will be organized in various Gram Panchayats across the Islands, providing a platform for rural youths to explore diverse career avenues, gain valuable skills, and connect with potential employers.

Diglipur, Jan. 17: NDRF team is currently undertaking a familiarization exercise in North and Middle Andaman District as part of Disaster preparedness. The NDRF team carried out visit to vulnerable areas in and around Diglipur. As community outreach effort and to create awareness amongst the population, Community Awareness Programmes were conducted at Diglipur and School Safety Program at Govt. Secondary School Durgapur.

Port Blair, Jan 17: The Member of Parliament of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma today called on the Hon’ble Lt. Governor of Andaman and Nicobar Islands at Raj Niwas and raised various developmental issues of Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
One prominent issue among those issues was the demand for allotment of a minimum of 5 acres of new land that can serve as a new Christian Graveyard in Port Blair region.
