Model School Sitanagar, Diglipur and Subhash Gram teams emerge winners

Diglipur, Aug 5: The Inter school football tournament involving all the schools of the zone, concluded at Diglipur on 5th Aug 2023. In the Boys under 14 category finals played today at the Vivekanand Stadium, Govt. Model Senior Secondary School Sitanagar defeated Govt. Secondary School Pashchim Sagar by 4-0. Bishal Das and Yashwant Ram scored 2 goals each for the winning team and helped their team become the winner of the tournament of the category.

Port Blair, Aug 6: Highlighting the unfortunate incident of collapse of Panighat Jetty of South Andaman region, the Member of Parliament, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Lt. Governor to allow Temporary Transportation Arrangements for public from Hope Town Jetty while the reconstruction works of Panighat Jetty is taken up.

In a letter addressed to the Lt. Governor, the Member of Parliament said that he has been informed by the general public and PRI members of the Hope Town and Panighat areas about the collapse of Panighat Jetty on 5th Aug 2023 at around 5.00 PM.

Port Blair, Aug 6: August 5, 2023 marks the completion of four years since the special status of Jammu and Kashmir under Article 370 being annulled and the state of Jammu and Kashmir dismantled. This assault on the Constitution and federalism presaged an all-round attack on the rights of citizens in Jammu and Kashmir.

The last five years under Central rule have seen steps to alter the very identity of Jammu and Kashmir with change in domicile laws and land rights. There is a concerted move to change the demography of the state.

Port Blair, Aug 6: In a prompt action against the bootleggers and illegal sale of liquor, a Special Raid Team of South Andaman Sub Division arrested one person in Excise Raid conducted on 27/07/2023 and seized 197 bottles of IMFL.

Port Blair, Aug. 6: Tele Mental Health Assistance and Networking Across States (Tele-MANAS) initiative has been launched by Ministry of Health & Family Welfare on the occasion of the World Mental Health Day i.e. on 10th October 2022. In view of this, a campaign on how to seek help through Tele-MANAS consultations and awareness of services of District Mental Health Units is being conducted at various places such as Panchayats, Schools, Colleges etc.
