Port Blair, Dec. 20: Due to technical reasons, the scheduled sailing programme of the vessel MV Campbell Bay for Little Andaman on Dec. 21 & 23, 2022 from Port Blair and her return voyage from Little Andaman has been postponed till further notice. However, fresh date of sailing of the vessel will be announced in due course, a press release from DSS said.

Port Blair, Dec. 20: The road portion from Teal House Jn. to Chatham Foreshore Road will be closed for all the vehicular movement for 10 days w.e.f. 21.12.2022. Hence, all the vehicles will be diverted through Haddo and Chatham Road.

Port Blair, Dec. 19: The second edition of the Joint Task Force (JTF) meeting on development of connectivity between Andaman & Nicobar Islands (ANI) and Aceh Province, Indonesia took place in Port Blair on Dec.19. The Indian delegation was led by Shri Vishvas Sapkal, Joint Secretary (South), Ministry of External Affairs and the Indonesian delegation was led by H.E Mr Jatmiko H Prasetyo, Director for South and Central Asian Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Indonesia.

Port Blair, Dec. 18: The RO Plant (Water ATM) installed at Burning Ghat at Ward No.7 under MPLADS fund of 16th Lok Sabha was inaugurated by Shri Bishnu Pada Ray, Ex-Member of Parliament in the presence of Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Member of Parliament of Andaman & Nicobar Islands and Smti. Ms Smitha R, IAS, Secretary of Port Blair Municipal Council today. 

Port Blair, Dec. 18: The 35th National Under-13 Chess Championship 2022 which began on 11th December 2022 at Vanarapet, Pondicherry concluded yesterday evening successfully.

Altogether 504 players across India took part in the prestigious event in which 5 young budding chess players (three boys and two girls) from Andaman & Nicobar Islands had participated and done reasonably well.
