BSNL A&N Islands Announces New Plans and Enhanced Data Volume in Existing Plant w.e.f. 10th August

Port Blair, Aug 9: On the eve of inauguration of prestigious Chennai - Andaman and Nicobar Islands (CANI) connecting submarine optical fiber cable project by Hon’ble Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi, BSNL announces a bonanza in terms of high internet speed and multiple times increase in volume of data downloads to all its wireline and mobile customers in the Islands. This project and BSNL tariff plans will enable high speed internet access and associated   services to the people of Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

Rangat, Aug 9: Till mid-June, everybody including the authorities here were very callous and thought that COVID-19 was well under control and not likely to spread in the community due to the physical isolation of various islands from one another. But ironically proving everyone wrong, Covid has reached almost all the densely populated Islands of South Andaman and North & Middle Andaman District. The tribal district of Nicobar is also no exception to this as it reached Car Nicobar.

Port Blair, Aug 9: The Social Welfare Department, A & N Administration will be providing all necessary assistance to any person suffering from anxiety, depression and distress. The One Stop Centre/Women’s Helpline under Department of Social Welfare have trained counselors available 24*7 to provide counseling services and other necessary support. Port Blair, Aug. 9: Due to sufficient rainfall in the catchment and surrounding areas of Dhanikhari dam during the past few days, the level of water in the dam has reached 59.65 metres as on 07.08.2020. According to the rainfall data, there has been 1100 mm of rainfall between 3rd July, 2020 to 6th August, as a result of which, the water level in the dam after meeting the daily drawl has gone up by 11.28 metres (from 48.37 metres to 59.65 metres). It is also to mention that the present level of water in the Dhanikhari Dam is still 4.18 metres below the corresponding level in 2019.
