Port Blair, Feb 26: Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organization, Tamilnadu and Sri Sathya Sai Seva Samithy, A&N Islands, Port Blair will be jointly organizing Free Medical Camps at Hanspuri and Nischintapur villages in Mayabunder on 01/03/2024 and at Pachayat Hall, Bambooflat on 02/03/2024 from 9.00AM to 1.00PM.

All the doctors of Sri Sathya Sai Organisation are from mainland institutions. On 02/03/2024 after the medical camp a Bajan will be held at Sri Sathya Sai Shivam Temple, Shore Point, Bambooflat from 4.00 PM to 5.00 PM followed by distribution of Prasad.

Ograbraj, Feb 26: The diligent efforts of South Andaman Police led to the successful confiscation of suspected venison and wild boar meat in Dinghyghat at Collinpur. Acting on crucial information provided by Shri Arshdeep Singh Panwar, SDPO Bambooflat, a team swiftly assembled and conducted an operation resulting in the detention of one person namely Ashit Mondal and seizure of the suspected meat.

On 24th February 2024, at approximately 1030 Hrs, SI Devanand Pathak, SHO PS Ograbraj, received information regarding the possession of suspected venison and wild boar meat in Collinpur Dinghyghat. Acting on this tip-off a team led by ASI Ram Singar Yadav, I/c OP Tirur, intervened at the scene where they spotted an individual, Ashit Mondal in possession of the suspected meat.

Kalighat, Feb 26: On 26.02.2024, the Kalighat Police executed a swift and efficient operation, showcasing their unwavering dedication to combatting illegal activities. They successfully confiscated a substantial quantity of Lehan in the dense forest of Talbagan, under the jurisdiction of PS Kalighat.

Taking immediate action, a team led by SI Silpi Singha, SHO PS Kalighat, along with PCs Sushil Sarkar, Ranjit Biswas, Eileen and Subrata Biswas conducted a jungle search deep inside the forest of Talabagan. The team successfully seized a significant quantity of 110 liters of Lehan along with Bhatti articles and various utensils used for the preparation of illicit liquor. These illicit materials had been cunningly hidden within the depths of the jungle. Subsequently, all confiscated items were promptly destroyed, delivering a severe blow to the illegal liquor manufacturing network.

Port Blair, Feb 26: In a first-of-its-kind initiative, Election Commission of India (ECI) today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with two prominent organizations, the Indian Banks’ Association (IBA) and the Department of Posts (DoP) to amplify its voter outreach and awareness efforts ahead of the forthcoming General Elections to Lok Sabha 2024. The initiative is in continuation of ECI’s untiring efforts to enhance electoral awareness in the country. Notably, ECI had recently signed an MoU with the Ministry of Education to formally integrate electoral literacy into the educational curriculum of schools and colleges. The MoU was signed today in the presence of Chief Election Commissioner Shri Rajiv Kumar and Election Commissioner Shri Arun Goel. Sh Vineet Pandey Secretary, Department of Posts Shri Sunil Mehta, Chief Executive, IBA and other officials from Department of Posts, IBA and ECI were present on the occasion.
