The electricity consumers and general public have been informed that, in order to carry out urgent preventive maintenance at Bambooflat Sub-Station, the power supply will be interrupted on 10.02.2024 from 0700 hrs. to 1400 hrs at Bambooflat to Wimberlygunj, Mathura, Brindavan, Ferrargunj to Jirkatang, Stewartgunj, Kanyapuram, Wimberlygunj to Shoal Bay.

Chennai, Feb 6: The U.S. Consulate General Chennai, the U.S. Consulate General Kolkata, and CUTS International organized a day-long workshop in Chennai on Feb 6, 2024 entitled “Defense News Conclave: Stories of U.S.-India Defense and Security Partnership” to highlight the strength of the bilateral defense and security partnership between the United States and India, and the growing U.S.-India strategic relationship in the Indo-Pacific region.

Port Blair, Feb 7: On 06 Feb 24, Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS), Admiral R Hari Kumar, PVSM, AVSM, VSM, ADC accompanied by Mrs Kala Hari Kumar, President (NWWA) arrived Port Blair. They were received by Air Marshal Saju Balakrishnan, AVSM, VM, Commander-in-Chief, Andaman & Nicobar Command (CINCAN) and Mrs Latha Saju, President DWWA (A&N Region).

On 07 Feb 24, the CNS visited ANC units in the Northern Group of Islands. During this visit, the CNS inaugurated Naval Communication Network (NCN) Centre at INS Kohassa boosting ANC’s communication capabilities. The new NCN enhances real time situational awareness and jointness in communication.

Port Blair, Feb 7: CPI (M) has demanded to construct temporary sheds at any government vacant land near Rangat Bazar and allot the same to the Rangat fire victims.

In a letter sent to the Lt Governor, A & N Islands, D. Ayyappan, Secretary, CPI (M) A & N State Organising Committee said that during his tour to Rangat, he visited the Rangat Bazar where a devastating fire broke out on 23rd January 2024 in which about 60 shops were gutted. The victim shopkeepers informed CPI (M) Secretary that they have sustained huge loss of property and trading goods. These shopkeepers have further informed him that they lost whatever they earned all these years.
