Port Blair, Feb 7: Shri Ajoy Bairagi, State President Bharatiya Janata Party today met Shri Keshav Chandra, Chief Secretary, A&N Administration and raised some vital issues for filling up of vacant posts of Assistant Professor, Physical Education in various educational Institutes like JNRM, Andaman College, TGCE Port Blair and Mahatma Gandhi College, Mayabunder.

Bairagi said these posts are vacant from several years and if not filled on regular basis, the posts will be banned and we will lose the posts. These posts can be filled in consultation with UPSC and many Youths of the Islands have the required qualification. Due to non-advertisement of these vacant posts, qualified youths have left with no options rather to work as physical education teachers in schools.

1st Shift: 0500 hrs to 0700 hrs

2nd Shift: 1130 hrs to 1400 hrs

Port Blair, Feb 7: The Andaman Nicobar Territorial Congress President, Shri. Rangalal Halder has called upon the Health Secretary, A&N Admn. highlighting the alarming shortage of essential Medical personnel at the Primary Health Centre (PHC) in Kalighat.

In a letter addressed, he said that PHC Kalighat currently grapples with a deficit in technicians, nurses and doctors, hindering essential healthcare services. Despite possessing a functional X-ray machine, the absence of qualified technicians has impeded timely diagnostic services to patients.
