Port Blair, Oct. 19: The Andaman Nicobar Territorial President, Shri. Rangalal Halder has raised the demand that concerning the well-being of the patients at the Primary Health Centers (PHCs) in Hutbay and R.K Pur.

In a letter addressed to the Chief Secretary, A&N Administration, Halder said that the doctors and staff nurses in the PHCs have been actively raising donations and collections to ensure that the patients receive the nutrition they require during their stay at the Hospital.

Port Blair, Oct. 19: As the nation gears up to observe National Police Commemoration Day on 21st October, solemn tribute will be paid to the brave men and women of various Central Armed Forces (CAFs), Central Police Organizations (CPOs) and States/UTs Police forces, who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty by A&NI Police at Police Lines, Port Blair. This day holds great significance as it serves as a poignant reminder of the selflessness and dedication exhibited by our law enforcement/security personnel. Till now, 53 Nos. of Police personnel of A&N Police have lost their lives in line of duty serving for our nation.

Port Blair, Oct. 19: In order to identify the potential errors/risks during water sports activities and to minimize the  same and also to improve the coordination between Tourist Safety and Enforcement Team (TSET), Dive Safety and Enforcement Team (DSET), Lifeguards and Tourism Stakeholders/Water Sports Operators, a table top exercise was conducted at Rajiv Gandhi Water Sports Complex (RGWSC) on Oct. 3, 2023, in which, TSET of RGWSC, DSET of North Bay, Beach Officer of North Bay Beach, Lifeguards of RGWSC and North Bay participated.

Port Blair, Oct. 19: A sensitisation-cum-awareness camp was conducted for the Andamanese PVTGs community on ‘Ill effects of Alcohol and Tobacco’ today. Dr. Anand Lingeswaran, MD (Psychiatry), Associate Professor & Head, Department of Psychiatry, ANIIMS through a powerpoint presentation explained in detail about the detrimental effects of different obnoxious items, consumption and its bad effects on the personal, social and community life. He reiterated that there is an urgent need for awareness among the community for a better and healthier life.

Port Blair, Oct. 19: The Indian National Trades Union Congress (Federation) organized a "Gate Meeting" with its Affiliated Unions and employees of Afloat and Dockyard section of Directorate of Shipping Services at Marine Gate, DSS, where several burning issues related to the workers were discussed and some decisions were also made.

The meeting was presided over by INTUC State President Mr. TSG Bhasker, INTUC Working President Mr. K.P Usman and President of DSS Dockyard Employees Union and DSS Afloat Employees Union Mr. Ibrahim Kolakkatil (Baba).
