Port Blair, Jan 28: The 39th Death Anniversary of veteran trade union leader of Andaman and Nicobar Islands Comrade PKS Prasad will be observed on 29th January, 2022.  The main function will be held at  Crusade House, Phoenix Bay, Port Blair where wreaths will be laid on the  memorial column  of late PKS Prasad  by  Service Associations and trade unions.  The programme will be organized jointly by the Non-Gazetted Govt. Officers’ Association and CITU.  

Port Blair, Jan 28: The vaccination drive is continuing smoothly in A&N Islands. As per data available, a total of 6,03,755 beneficiaries in the age group of 18 and above have been vaccinated so far in A&N Islands. Similarly, 21,982 beneficiaries have been vaccinated in the age group of 15 to 18 years against the target beneficiaries of 23,000.The number of beneficiaries administered precautionary dose of vaccine so far stood at 5217.

It is brought to the notice of the general consumers and government departments that power supply will remain suspended at the following area on 29.01.2022 from 0800 hrs. to 1400 hrs., in connection with shifting of 33 KV overhead line at newly erected pipe pole at School Line.

Port Blair, Jan. 28: During the RT-PCR test conducted on 95 passengers who arrived here yesterday, 1positive case has been detected. Today, 6 flights with 593 passengers arrived, out of which, 413 passengers were vaccinated with both doses while RT-PCR test was conducted on 170 passengers (2 foreign travellers) and the reports are awaited. 

The CITU, A&N State Committee deeply mourn the sudden demise of Shri A. Palani, an employee of the Peerless Resorts, Carbyn’s Cove, Port Blair and resident of Garacharma on  27th January 2021 at GB Pant Hospital, Port Blair.  He was 56.  He was an active member of the Peerless Resorts Employees Union (CITU).
