Kamorta, Oct.21: A demonstration program was organized by the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services in association with ATMA at Kamorta focusing on the preparation of Azolla pits and Azolla cultivation in farmers' fields. Four farmers benefited from this initiative viz. Shri Taufique Ahmed from Kamorta, Smti Inlonti from Pilpillow, Smti Aysha Majid from Kamorta and Shri Frazer James from Kakana. During the programme, these farmers were educated about sustainable farming techniques, highlighting Azolla as a nutrient-rich fodder source. They also learned about its eco-friendly attributes, its effectiveness as a disease controller, and how it can enhance egg production, milk production, and promote livestock growth.

Port Blair, Oct. 21: Passengers/general public have been informed that in view of celebration of Durga Puja, the Directorate of Shipping Services has scheduled additional trip from Port Blair to Shaheed Dweep with effect from Oct. 20 to 24, 2023. The vessel will sail for Shaheed Dweep from Port Blair at 1300 hrs from Phoenix Bay Jetty and will sail back to Port Blair at 1500 hrs from Shaheed Dweep.

Port Blair, Oct 20: In a well-attended ceremony held at Sagaritara School today at 11:00 AM, the Member of Parliament, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Shri. Port Blair, Oct. 20: Continuing its zero tolerance approach towards the menace of drugs, PS Aberdeen team has succeeded in registering two cases under NDPS Act within a week and has arrested three persons who were supplying drugs to students.

Acting on a tip off received on 16.10.2023 and 18.10.2023 from reliable sources, a raiding team led by Insp. Girish Kumar, SHO PS Aberdeen, accompanied with HC/417 Vinod Kumar, HC/2329 Nakul Halder, PC/866 S N Rao, PC/885 Jayraj, PC/2834 Naw Elieen, PC/430 Jagdish Babu, PC/175 S.S Yadav and PC/2849 B. Kumar Swamy conducted two consecutive raids at Dean Street and near JNRM, Port Blair respectively.
