Car Nicobar, Aug. 2: As a part of DC Cup- 2023 – a mini Olympic format year-long sports event, the second major tournament – DC Cup Football Rolling Trophy is being organised by the District Administration in collaboration with NGSA (Nicobar Games and Sports Association) at BJR Stadium, Tamaloo, Car Nicobar. A total of 17 teams, including 13 villages, Education Department and Indian Air Force are participating in the 3 weeks long tournament.

Port Blair, Aug 2: Andaman & Nicobar State Organising Committee of All India Democratic Women’s Association (AIDWA) organised a Mass Demonstration in front of Port Blair Municipal Council, Port Blair today (2.8.2023) at 4 p.m. to protest against the rape, murder and naked parading of women in Manipur. The demonstration was inaugurated by D. Ayyappan, Secretary, CPI (M) A & N State Organising Committee.

Port Blair, Aug 2: In a letter addressed to the Chief Secretary, A&N Administration, the ANTCC President Shri. Rangalal Halder has requested for inclusion of M.Sc. Nursing course to Andaman Administration’s quota in mainland nursing medical colleges.
He stated that the Andaman & Nicobar Islands have a talented pool of students with a strong interest in M.Sc. Nursing. Due to the geographical constraints and non-availability of specialized courses in the Islands, many students’ faces difficulties in accessing higher quality education in their chosen fields.

Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Member of Parliament, Andaman & Nicobar Islands has deeply mourned the sad demise of Abdul Rafique, Ex-Sarpanch of Gram Panchayat Mithakhari, R/o Ograbraj (Kader Tekrey), 55 years who passed away in the morning hours of 02.08.2023. He prayed to the Almighty to give eternal peace to the departed soul and courage to the bereaved family to bear the irreparable loss.
