Port Blair, Sept. 26: Andaman Nicobar Chess Association (ANCA) will be organising a three days Chess Workshop at TSG Emerald View, Phoenix Bay Port Blair on 1st, 3rd & 4th October 2022. Renowned International Master & a Chess Coach from Chennai V Saravanan will be the trainer & conduct the workshop.

Port Blair, Sept. 26: As part of the All India Campaign by the CPI (M) on “the Increasing Assaults of the BJP central government on people’s livelihood”, the Middle Andaman Area Committee of the CPI (M) has carried out a Mass Demonstration at Billiground Bazar on 24th September, 2022. The demands raised in the mass demonstration were  (1) withdraw GST on food articles (2) restore subsidy on gas cylinders (3) Abolish Central government cess/surcharge on petroleum products (4) Fill up all the vacant posts in various government departments, etc.   The Area Committee had also carried out extensive postering on these issues in Middle Andaman area. 

Port Blair, Sept. 25: The Member of Parliament, Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma on Friday met the Secretary Education and placed four crucial demands before her relating to the welfare of students.

The Member of Parliament demanded for starting a second shift in JNRM from the 2022-2023 session, so that the maximum number of students can get admission in degree programmes and study in their dream subjects in these Islands for their better future.

Port Blair, Sept. 25: The Chief Secretary, A&N Administration, Shri Keshav Chandra, IAS arrived at Swaraj Dweep today morning on a one-day visit. Upon arrival, he was accorded a warm welcome at Swaraj Dweep Helipad by the Heads of Department, Pradhan, Govind Nagar, Shri Ajit Kumar Roy, Pradhan, Shyamnagar, Shri Alok Mirdha, Zilla Parishad Member, Shri Apurba Roy and PRI members. The Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman, Shri Suneel Anchipaka, IAS, Secretary (IP&T), Shri Hari Kallikkat, IAS, Secretary-cum-Director (Transport), Shri Vishwendra, were also present.

Port Blair, Sept. 25: Shri Vishal Jolly National Executive Member BJP & Former State President BJP had demanded granting of two (2) years age relaxation for all Group-B non-gazetted posts for which the recruitment through direct recruitment would be held, especially for the posts of Junior Engineers under Andaman Public Works Department in a letter addressed to Hon’ble Lt. Governor, ANI and Chief Secretary, A&N Administration.
