Port Blair, July 4: The vaccination drive is continuing smoothly in A&N Islands. As per data available, a total of 6,83,909 doses of vaccine have been administered to beneficiaries in the age group of 18 and above so far. Similarly, 23,588 beneficiaries have been vaccinated in the age group of 15 to 18 years. 24,562 beneficiaries in the age group of 12 to 14 years have been administered both doses of vaccine. The number of beneficiaries administered precautionary dose of vaccine so far stood at 27,691.

Port Blair, July 4: During the RTPCR conducted on 160 incoming flight passengers who arrived here yesterday, five positive cases have been detected. Today, 10 flights with 1423 passengers arrived, out of which, 1251 passengers were vaccinated with both doses while RT-PCR test was conducted on 131 passengers and the reports are awaited.

Smti. Pramila Kumari, Adhyaksha, Zilla Parishad, South Andaman and senior officers of Administration accompanied the Chief Secretary including Secretary (GA), Secretary (RD) & DC (SA), Secretary (Labour)/ADM(SA), Secretary (IT/TW/S&T), Chief Executive Officer(ZP)/SDM(SA), Director (RD/CS&CA), Director (Power/Agriculture), Director (SW), Director (Health) and Superintending Engineer, PRI.

Port Blair, July 3: The Member of Parliament, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma on 02.07.2022 inaugurated a road, which connects the graveyard of Prothrapur, ward number 19 with the main Junction of the area.

Port Blair, July 3: A proud moment for Islanders as R Kashthuri Bhai of GDMS Middle Point has brought laurels to the A&N Islands by securing first position in below 1350 category in the Athens of the East 2nd International Grand Master Open Chess Tournament 2022 held at Madurai from 01.07.2022 to 03.07.2022. She scored 7 points out of 9 Rounds with six wins and two draws and clinched first position in below 1350 rating category and won Rs. 60,000/- cash prize plus Trophy and a smart phone. Around 600 players from different countries viz. India, USA, England, Canada, Sri Lanka, Sweden etc. participated in this prestigious event.
