Port Blair, Jan. 6: The vessel MV Swaraj Dweep which sailed from Chennai is expected to arrive at Port Blair on Jan.8, 2023 at 6 am. She has on board a total passenger of 245 adults and 1 infant, 22 Containers and total Cargo of 290 MT. On arrival, the vessel will be berthed at Haddo Wharf and passengers will be disembarked immediately.

Port Blair, Jan.6: Firing practice by Indian Army will be carried out at Nariyal Bageecha, Brichgunj on Jan.7, 2023 from 1200 hrs to 1600 hrs. The safe flying height is above 300 mtr AMSL. All concerned have been warned to keep themselves and their vessels/fishing boat away from the firing range during the above mentioned date and time.

Port Blair, Jan 5: The Hon’ble Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh arrived at Port Blair and was accorded a formal welcome. On arrival he was received by the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Andaman & Nicobar Islands Admiral DK Joshi, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, VSM, NM (Retd), Lieutenant General Ajai Singh AVSM, Commander-in-Chief Andaman and Nicobar Command (CINCAN) and Senior Government Officials. The Raksha Mantri reviewed a Quad-Service Guard of Honour and visited Sanklap Samarak, the location of Netaji’s historic arrival on 29 Dec 1943. At the Sanklap Samarak, he paid solemn homage to honour the sacrifices of soldiers of the Indian National Army.

CPI (M) Andaman & Nicobar State Organising Committee mourn the death of Shri KK Ratnakaran, retired Manager of A & N State Cooperative Bank, at Coimbatore today (6.1.2023) morning. He was 76 years. He left behind his wife and two sons. CPI (M) conveys its deepest condolences to the bereaved family members.

Port Blair, Jan 5: The Member of Parliament, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Hon’ble Lt. Governor, Andaman & Nicobar Islands to induct modern, faster, bigger and better Vehicle Ferry Vessels for Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
He suggested that in order to save time, such bigger and better vehicle ferry vessels can be brought to Andaman on wet lease for next four to five years.
