It is hereby informed to the general public that 12th National Voters’ Day (NVD) is being celebrated in a befitting manner at State, Districts, Tehsils & Booth Level throughout Andaman and Nicobar Islands on 25th January 2022 (Tuesday) along with other parts of the country with the theme of “Making Election Inclusive, Accessible and Participative” with the aim of maximizing enrolment and building awareness in this UT. A series of activities is being organized through online mode to celebrate the 12th NVD which includes pledge taking by all offices on 25th January, 2022, slogan & essay competitions on the theme of NVD in Schools/Colleges and awareness activities through All India Radio, Doordarshan, Print advertisement, Social media etc.    

The Andaman & Nicobar Territorial Congress Committee President, Mr. Rangalal Halder has greeted all Islanders on the occasion of 12th National Voters’ Day which is being celebrated today.

Port Blair, Jan 24: Due to technical reasons, the services of Vehicle ferry vessel MV Pilobhabi plying between Chatham – Bambooflat has been withdrawn from services w.e.f. 25.01.2022. In absence of MV Pilobhabi, 02 Vehicle ferry vessels namely MV Mus and MV Lapathy shall be providing services in the above route. However, the Directorate is putting all efforts for early completion of the repair and restore normalcy. Till such time, the commuters are requested to cooperate with this Directorate.

Port Blair, Jan. 24: During the RT-PCR test conducted on 101 passengers who arrived here yesterday, no positive case has been detected. Today, 8 flights with 528 passengers arrived, out of which, 387 passengers were vaccinated with both doses while RT-PCR test was conducted on129 passengers (5 foreign travellers) and the reports are awaited. 

Port Blair, Jan 24: The vaccination drive is continuing smoothly in A&N Islands. As per data available, a total of 6,03,236 beneficiaries in the age group of 18 and above have been vaccinated so far in A&N Islands. Similarly, 21,863 beneficiaries have been vaccinated in the age group of 15 to 18 years against the target beneficiaries of23,000. The number of beneficiaries administered precautionary dose of vaccine so far stood at 4623.
