Port Blair, March 21: A cleanliness drive was organized in the surrounding areas of Community Hall, Ward No 6 and 7 under Gram Panchayat Ramnagar on 20.03.2021.

The cleanliness drive was organized by the Kesariya Hindu Vahini (NGO) in collaboration with the Directorate of RD, PRIs &ULBs. More than 60 volunteers from KHV, SHGs, Swatch Ghiris, NRLM, Ex PRIs members, and villagers have participated in the cleanliness drive, and around 10 bags of glass bottles, plastics, and other waste were collected and handed over to Gram Panchayat.

Port Blair, March 19: To provide a positive upheaval to the medical facilities a state of the art district hospital was proposed and is presently under construction at Garacharma in Port Blair. The Island’s administration has taken quite a few steps to ramp up the health services however recently some speculations have arisen which put a big question mark on the ongoing construction of district hospital.

This district hospital is a large complex divided into phase -1 and 2, having an area of more than 10,000 sq.m. However, it has come to our knowledge that the design of this very building has various loopholes which pose a serious threat to the patients as well as the employees who will work in the building.

Port Blair, March 19: Shri Suneel Anchipaka, IAS, Secretary (RD/Panchayat), along with SDM, South Andaman, Director(RD, PRI & ULBs) and other officials of CD Block Ferrargunj, Revenue Department and the Engineering Wing of PRI (s) inspected the project “Development of Collinpur Beach” being executed under Rurban Mission under which infrastructure such as Changing Room along with Toilet, Watch Towers, Eco-friendly huts for sit out, eco-friendly cottages for stay, Snacks Bar etc. are being constructed at Collinpur beach.

The success story of Shri. Dhirendra Nath Mistry came into notice during the usual field visit of Shri Suneel Anchipaka, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman/Secretary (RD/Panchayat) along with Shri Hari Kallikkat, IAS, SDM and Director (RD, PRIs & ULBs).

Port Blair, March 18: Indian Naval Landing Craft Utility L58, the eighth and last ship of the Landing Craft Utility (LCU) Mark IV Class, was commissioned into the Indian Navy today at Port Blair. Lieutenant General Manoj Pande, AVSM, VSM, the Commander-in-Chief, Andaman and Nicobar Command (CINCAN) was the Chief Guest and Rear Admiral Vipin Kumar Saxena, IN (Retd) Chairman and Managing Director, Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers Ltd (GRSE) was present for the event.
