Port Blair, Oct. 24: The Andaman and Nicobar Fire Unit as part of the Police Commemoration week in an attempt to disseminate fire safety awareness and risk prevention reached out to the entrepreneurs by conducting an online training programme on “First Aid Fire Fighting” and best practices in fire safety and prevention on 23/10/2021. During the training session awareness was provided on origin & classification of fire, type of fire extinguishers, its operational techniques and the various evacuation procedure to be adopted during emergency, and the necessary fire fighting paraphernalia needed in their establishments etc.  The participants also clarified their doubts during the interactive session. 

Port Blair, Oct. 24: In series of events organized by A&N Police to observe Police Commemoration Day and Rastriya Ekta Diwas, all women Police Brass Band and Pipe Band of A&N Police performed live at iconic places of Port Blair such as Cellular Jail, Flag Point, Marina Park and Corbyn's Cove from 22-24 October, 2021. The Band played some of the finest patriotic and melodious tunes to mark the occasion. The band displayed a very energetic performance which was widely applauded and appreciated by the general public and tourists.

Port Blair, Oct. 24: A general body meeting of the Nagarpalika Shramik Sangh was held at Port Blair on 22nd October 2021 under the chairmanship of Shri B. Chandrachoodan. The meeting discussed various issues and problems of workers working in the Port Blair Municipal Council and adopted resolutions on it. 

Port Blair, Oct. 24: The A&N Police is organizing 10 days Police Commemorative events from 21st October till Rashtriya Ekta Diwas to mark the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on 31st October. These programmes are being held to spread awareness about the role, contribution and sacrifice made by the Police personnel in maintenance of internal security of the nation.

The South Andaman Teachers’ Branch of the Non-Gazetted Govt. Officers’ Association, A & N Islands condoles the sad demise of Shri D.Jaya Krishna Rao, PST presently attached to Govt. Primary School, Shore Point on 23/10/2021 at G.B.Pant Hospital, Port Blair. He was 56 years old and is survived by a son and a daughter. The Association conveys its heartfelt condolences to the bereaved members of his family.
