It is brought to the notice of the electricity consumers and general public that, to create safe corridor for electricity feeders and tie lines, the Electricity Department will exercise line clearance and pruning of dangerous trees on 06.05.2023 (Saturday) between 0600 hrs. and1500 hrs., so that the frequent power disruption and electricity faults can be prevented during monsoon season.

Port Blair, May 2: The Member of Parliament, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has sanctioned Rs. 40,00,000 (Forty Lakhs rupees) for construction of an Anganwadi Center and a Multipurpose Hall for Community utilization at Machilane, ward number 10, Port Blair.

The sanction order was handed over to Smti. T Mangayarkarasi Councillor Ward No.10 by the Member of Parliament recently.

Port Blair, May 2: Shri. Vishal Jolly, Former State President BJP-ANI, wrote a letter to Hon’ble Lt. Governor A & N Islands for grant of adequate compensation on account of death of Shri. A. Mani due to crocodile attack.

In his letter he wrote that an unfortunate tragic incident of crocodile attack on 28th April, 2023, one more person lost his valuable life while fishing near the shore at Shoal Bay No. 8. These kind of incidents are becoming usual state of affairs nowadays and therefore some serious steps are required to be taken to save lives.
