Port Blair, July 25: It has been observed that many vehicle owners approach the Transport Department for exemption of late fine attributed to delay in production of vehicles for annual fitness in the cases of commercial (Transport) vehicles and at the time of Renewal of Registration Certificate (RCR) in case of non-transport vehicles. In this regard, it is brought to the knowledge of all vehicle owners that as per Rule 81 of CMVR, 1989, the amount of late fine of Rs. 50/- per day in the case of Transport class of vehicles and Rs.300/- (for Two Wheeler) & Rs.500/- (for LMV & HMV) per month for Non Transport Class of Vehicles shall be levied after expiry of Certificate of Fitness and Certificate of registration respectively.

Port Blair, July 25: Online applications were invited for recruitment with respect to Primary School Teacher and Graduate Trained Teacher under the Department of Education and the last date of submission of online application is on 01.08.2023 (Up to midnight) and such online application must be verified by the concerned designated officer.

Port Blair, July 25: Due to forced outage of 5 MW DG sets of M/s. NVVN Aggreko Power Plant, the availability of power has been restricted. All efforts are being made by the Electricity Department to put 5 MW M/s. NVVN Aggreko Power Plant in operational at its earliest. To manage the shortfall of power generation through available power till rectification of 5 MW M/s. NVVN Aggreko Power Plant, the department will exercise rotational load shedding of 2 (two) hours in and around Port Blair and South Andaman area. 

Port Blair, July 25: Thunderstorm with lightning and gusty wind (40-50 kmph) is likely to occur at one or two places over A&N Islands on July 28 & 29. Due to strong southwest monsoon current wind speed exceeding 45 kmph is likely to prevail over Andaman Sea and neighborhood. Fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea till July 29.
