Port Blair, Dec. 29: Police Station Aberdeen staff have cracked a blind burglary case, which occurred at the residence of a senior citizen. The accused has been arrested and stolen articles recovered within 24 hours.

A burglary case was reported at PS Aberdeen that on 27/12/2022 a sum of Rs. 30,000/- has been stolen from the house of the complainant by breaking the door by some unknown persons. Upon the complaint, an FIR Vide No 234/2022 dated 27/12/2022 U/s 454/380 IPC was registered and immediately a team comprising of SI R. Dhiraj Kishen (IO), HC Sunil Singh Yadav, PCs Sandeep Lakra, Asish Singh and Shiv Kumar was constituted under the supervision of Insp. Girish Kumar, SHO PS Aberdeen for the search of accused person and stolen money.

Port Blair, Dec. 29: The counseling for admission to vacant seat under Category V in Chemistry will be held on 3rd January, 2023 at 9:30 a.m. in the College. Eligible candidates who have already applied for the course and are desirous of availing the above seat have been directed to attend the counseling on the above-mentioned date and time. Those who fail to attend the counseling session in time, will not be considered for admission to the course and the next eligible candidate available will be considered for admission.

Port Blair, Dec. 29: To commemorate the anniversary of First Flag Hoisting by Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose in A&N Islands, the Tourism Department in association with the Department of Art & Culture& Kala Kendra Society will be organizing a Patriotic Musical evening at Corbyn’s Cove Beach from 5.30 pm tomorrow (Dec. 30) to pay tribute to the heroes of India’s Freedom Struggle.

Port Blair, Dec. 29: Firing practice by Indian Navy will be carried out at NSCB Island on Jan. 5 & 6, 2023 from 3.30 pm to 5.30 pm. Safe flying height is above 7000m AMSL. All concerned have been warned to keep themselves and their vessels/fishing boat away from the firing range during the above mentioned date and time.

Diglipur, Dec. 29: The Secretary (Social Welfare), A & N Administration, Smt. Smitha.R, IAS inaugurated four Anganwadi Centers viz. Khudirampur V under Gram Panchayat Diglipur, Shyamnagar RP under Gram Panchayat Radhanagar, Sitanagar V under Gram Panchayat Sitanagar and Kalighat 6 F under Gram Panchayat Kalighat. During the event, Shri Anuj Kumar Bharti, Assistant Commissioner, Diglipur, Executive Engineer, APWD and PRI members along with community people were present. Smt. Indira Devi, Child Development Project Officer, Diglipur welcomed the gathering and explained about the services provided by AWCs.
