Port Blair, April 25: PBMC supplies drinking water to municipal areas. Due to poor monsoon and excessive heat, there is acute shortage of water supply from PWD to PBMC. Rains are not expected any time soon. Water is a precious natural resource and cannot be wasted. The public have been advised to use water carefully and avoid any type of wastage of water. Overflow of storage tanks should be avoided at all costs. Consumers have been asked to fix leaking pipes and install float valves in water tanks to avoid overflow. Govt. offices, public institutions, commercial establishments and other major consumers of water have been asked to take precautionary measures to preserve water.

Port Blair, April 25: Mr. Vishal Jolly, National Executive Member BJP & Former State President BJP-ANI has deeply mourned the sad demise of Mr. R V Reddy, aged 75 years, Senior Congress leader ANTCC, R/o Dignabad War No. 4, who left for heavenly abode on 25.04.2023 at Chennai. Shri Jolly prayed to the Almighty for the eternal peace of the departed soul and to give strength to his bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss.

Port Blair, April 25: Due to Joint Naval Exercise at Andaman Sea and restriction in port access at Haddo Wharf, the scheduled departure time of the vessel MV Swaraj Dweep for Vizag on 29.04.2023 at 1000 hrs from Port Blair has been preponed. Now, the vessel will sail for Vizag on the same day i.e. on 29.04.2023 at 0500 hrs instead of 1000 hrs from Haddo Wharf. Embarkation of passengers will commence on 28.04.2023 from 2000 hrs onwards. Inconvenience caused to the passengers due to above changes is regretted.
