Port Blair, April 30: Hon’ble Union Minister for Tribal Affairs, Shri Arjun Munda during his 4 day visit to A&N Islands from April 27 to 30, 2023 met Admiral DK Joshi, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, NM, VSM (Retd.), Hon’ble Lt. Governor, A&N Islands and Vice Chairman Islands Development Agency today at Raj Niwas. Hon’ble Lt. Governor briefed Hon’ble Minister on various measures adopted by A&N Administration to ensure wellbeing of Tribal community and PVTGs. Also, briefed on mega projects of Infrastructure & Tourism nearing completion through responsible & sustainable development fully addressing environmental, ecological and Tribal population concerns.

Port Blair, April 30: The North & Middle Andaman Police has successfully organized “SP Cup Cricket tournament", a community policing initiative, at Mini Stadium, Rangat from March 12, 2023, to April 28, 2023. The tournament saw participation from 10 teams who showcased their skills and sportsmanship in an exciting display of cricket.

Port Blair, April 30: The 25th meeting of Andaman and Nicobar Islands Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board was held yesterday in the Conference Hall of the Office of the Labour Commissioner, A & N Administration, Supply Line under the Chairmanship of Shri B.S.Jaglan, IAS, Chairman, ANIBOCWWB/ Secretary (Labour& Employment), A & N Administration wherein Shri Ankit Yadav, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, N&M Andaman (through Video Conference), Shri Hemant Tirkey, Welfare Commissioner, Govt. of India, Ministry of Labour& Employment, Kolkata, representative of CE, APWD & NHDCL, Representative of Indian National Trade Union Congress & Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh and officials from Office of Labour Commissioner attended.  During the meeting, various issues relating to extension of various social security assistances to the registered construction workers of the Board were discussed and the Chairman of the Board emphasised the need to ensure extension of benefits/assistances to the registered construction workers of the Board by way of faceless manner.
