Port Blair, April 27: The Andaman & Nicobar Islands are prone to hydro-meteorological disasters and falls in the Cyclogeneses Zone and significant number of cyclones gets generated every year in the Andaman Sea. Heavy rainfall due to monsoon leads to localized flooding also occur frequently in low lying areas.

Port Blair, April 27: The District Magistrate, South Andaman has notified for the information of all concerned that that PBMC is constructing a cross drainage at Lillypur Basthi, Ward No. 1 between Shri Abdul Kader’s residence and P.M General Store. In view of this, the road will be closed for vehicular movement for 20 days from April 28, 2023 to May17, 2023.

Port Blair, April 27: Due to administrative reasons, the scheduled departure time of the vessel MV Campbell Bay from little Andaman to Port Blair on April 28, 2023 at 0800 hrs has been postponed. Now, the vessel will sail for Port Blair on the same day i.e. on 28.04.2023 at 1400 hrs instead of 0800 hrs from Little Andaman.

Port Blair, April 27: The vessel MV Nalanda will sail for Chennai via Little Andaman, Nancowry & Campbell Bay on April 30, 2023 at 0900. Excess baggage will be loaded from 1400 hrs to 1600 hrs on April 29, 2023 i.e. one day prior to sailing of the vessel. Embarkation of passengers will commence from 0700 Hrs to 0800 hrs on April 30, 2023. The embarkation of passengers will be closed one hour before the schedule time. Passengers reporting late will not be allowed to board the vessel.

Port Blair, April 26: The Member of Parliament, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Hon’ble Lt. Governor of Andaman & Nicobar Islands to assign staffs from DRC Chennai and DRC Kolkata to attend patients from Andaman & Nicobar Islands in Mainland Hospital, so that patients can get benefit and right treatment, under the Government of India’s flagship programme, Ayushman Bharat.  “If necessary some more staffs may be posted to DRC Chennai and DRC Kolkata to handle these cases,” he added.
