Port Blair, Sept. 10: Andaman and Nicobar Idol Immersion Rules 2018 were published in the Andaman and Nicobar Gazette No. 23 dated 05-03-2018 in compliance of Hon’ble National Green Tribunal order dated 06-10-2017 in O.A 51/2016/EZ. The Rules framed covers the general guidelines idol making, ban on use of synthetic colors, height of super structures and idols. In this connection, the A & N Pollution Control Committee, Deptt. of Science & Technology, A&N Administration has directed all the Idol makers and Puja Committees to follow the guidelines for idol immersion as mentioned below:

Port Blair, Sept. 10: Firing practice will be carried out by Coast Guard at Chinthe Long Range, Brichgunj on Sept. 21 & 22 from 9.30 am to 5 pm. All concerned have been warned to keep themselves and their livestock away from firing area during the mentioned date and time.

Port Blair, Sept. 10: Heavy rain (07-11 cm) is likely to occur at one or two places over Nicobar Islands and thunderstorm and lightning accompanied with gusty wind (speed reaching 40-50 kmph) is also likely to occur at one or two places over A&N Islands on Sept. 11, 12 & 13.  Thunderstorm and lightning accompanied with gusty wind (speed reaching 30-40 kmph) is likely to occur at one or two places over A&N Islands on Sept. 14.

Port Blair, Sept. 10: Firing practice will be carried out by Coast Guard Dornier on Sept. 12, 22, 26 and 29 from 2 pm to 4 pm. The safe flying height is 6000 feet AMSL. All concerned have been warned to keep themselves and their vessel/fishing boats away from firing area during the mentioned date and time.
