Port Blair, July 3: Dr. S. Raja Rao, Senior Regional Director at IGNOU, Regional Centre Port Blair has superannuated on 30th June, 2022. During his short stay Dr. S. Raja Rao focused on the ongoing Construction activity of the Regional Centre Building at Port Blair and streamlined the student support services in the Regional Centre. In view of the superannuation, Dr. Nurul Hasan assumed charge as Regional Director at Indira Gandhi National Open University, Regional Centre, Port Blair w.e.f. 1st July 2022.  Dr. Nurul Hasan had rich experience of working as Regional Director in Srinagar IGNOU Regional Centre and many other Regional Centres in the mainland.

Port Blair, July 3: The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) Port Blair Regional Centre has organized the 27th Prof. G. Ram Reddy Memorial Lecture on 2nd July, 2022 at the first floor of Regional Centre, Port Blair premises.  Dr. Nurul Hasan, Regional Director and the former Senior Regional Director Dr. S. Raja Rao paid the floral tributes to Prof. G. Ram Reddy on this occasion.  All the staff of Regional Centre have participated in the programme. The main programme started at IGNOU, HQ, New Delhi through live telecast on Gyandarshan.

Port Blair, July 3: As a part of zero tolerance towards encroachment, the District Administration of South Andaman carried out eviction drives against encroachments committed over Government land in South Andaman District in Radha Nagar village, Swaraj Dweep under Port Blair Tehsil and restored an area of 12000 sq mtrs of Government Land into Govt. Khatha.

Port Blair, July 3: During the RTPCR conducted on145 incoming flight passengers who arrived here yesterday no positive case have been detected. Today, 10 flights with 1624 passengers arrived, out of which, 1439 passengers were vaccinated with both doses while RT-PCR test was conducted on 160 passengers and the reports are awaited.
